ကခ်င္ဓါး ၁

Dha, Kachin, Northen Burma
Solid fighting blade

A good fighting Dha from the Kachin states of Burma.
Over all this antique sword measures 62cms long with a thick fighting blade of 42cms.
The hilt shows a swollen waist and iron fittings with incised lines to each end of the iron fittings, the wood is bamboo.
The blade is well forged being 9mm thick at the hilt and tapering to the scalloped tip that also carries a cutting edge within the curve.
The spine is beveled and the the body of the blade carries a broad fuller towards the tip.
A nice robust Burmese Dha.
